Signs You Are Living in a House Ruled by Toddlers

A matchbox car is jammed into your dishwasher for a full detail car washing.

There are a pair of size 7 kiddie sneakers wedged into a pair of size 12 men's workboots, because they fit better that way.

There is a caravan of cars driving down your sofa cushions.

A bouncy ball takes the place of a decorative centerpiece on your dining room table.


This is our life right now...and I wouldn't have it any other way! :)

Andrew's Adventure

Andrew had his very own trip to Hartselle a couple of weeks ago for some one on one time with Gigi and Jabo. This is something fun that Will has gotten to do a couple of times, and so we were happy for the oppurtunity to present itself for Andrew to do the same. And, as is evident in the pictures below, he had a blast!!

While out on a ride around the pond, Andrew's tractor started to run out of charge. I thought these pictures were hilarious! Poor Gigi ended up pushing that thing half way around the pond and back to the house.

Wednesday:
Has anyone kept count on the number of hats Andrew has worn throughout the stay? We are up to 4! This kid loves a hat!



We missed our little boy so much but I also know how special it was for him to have this bonding time with his grandparents! Thanks Gigi and Jabo!

DIY Weekend

A few weeks ago, Gigi and Jabo came into town to 1. pick up Andrew for a short visit to Hartselle and 2. help Dan work on his "new to us" car.
When Dan bought the Durango a couple of months ago, he bought it at a great price, but with the understanding that it needed some serious work done. So, Dan, being the wonderfully optimistic person he is, decided that a it was a project he could undertake on his own without the help of a knowledgeable, certified auto repair shop! :) Can you sense how unsure I was about this venture? I quickly gained a good bit of confidence when Dan solicited his dad's help and did tons of research on the project. And I am happy to say that we now own a great running, like new Durango that my man fixed!! I'm proud of you Dan and I promise to try to have more faith in you in the future. You haven't let me down yet! :)
And thank you, Jabo, for all your hard work and bringing all of the tools! I know Dan enjoyed working on this project with you.

In addition to the car repair success, we also benefited by spending a great weekend with Gigi and Jabo! Always fun!!
We capped off the weekend by watching some MSU baseball at Clay and Michelle's apartment! Not a win, but a fun game nonetheless!

Best Friends

A few weeks ago, one of our favorite families in Starkville moved away! We had gotten really close to the Romanos while they were here and we surely miss them.
Zane will always be Will's first "best friend." :)




We wish them all the best in Tennessee and can't wait for them to come back our way for a visit!

Tumbling

I am really behind on blogging about Will's Spring Tumbling performance. He had another great semester of Tumbling that finished up at the end of April. Miss Mary Esther is such a great coach and so very patient with a wild group of young kids. And I am constantly impressed with what Will is learning and what he is able to do.

Mini-Vacay with the Aldridges

We just got back from an awesome long weekend stay at Casa de Aldridge in Pensacola. We had so much fun and squeezed so many activities into our weekend. Kelly and Brett had everything planned to a tee and were so wonderful to not only completely entertain us, but also open up their home to all of us. It was just like old times! It makes me realize how much we miss them living here in Starkville. But, I am so happy for them to be in Pensacola. It seems like the perfect fit for their little family and...it isn't a bad spot to visit either! ;)
Here are some pictures from our adventures:
Saturday morning, we went to this great pool. Brett attempted to help Will learn to swim. At first, we weren't sure it was going so well, but by the end of the morning, he was gaining confidence and starting to really enjoy his newly learned skills.

Kate is a little fish and is not afraid of the water AT ALL! She just might be swimming by the end of the summer.

Andrew really loved the kiddie pool.


As did, Will.

Saturday afternoon we visited the Naval Aviation Museum and what a treat! It was a great museum with so many interesting things to see. I could have spent an entire day reading all of the displays and taking it all in.



Will and Andrew climbed in every single plane that was open to the public.






Saturday night, we went on a doulble date with Kelly and Brett. We ate dinner at Mcguire's Irish Pub and went to see "The Hangover 2."

Sunday morning, we rented a Pontoon boat and spent the day crusing the bay with the Dukes(old college friends who are now friends of Kelly and Brett).



We stopped at a couple of different sandy spots to let the kids (and adults) play and eat lunch.

On the way back to the dock, all 3 of the babies on board fell asleep. This might have been the highlight of the day! The whole experience was so fun and something that I definitely look forward to doing again.


Sunday evening, we went over to Brett's parents' house for a birthday celebration for Kelly.

Monday, we went out to Palafox Pier to look at some of the huge boats and pick up some fresh fish for dinner.



We also made a stop at Jerry's for lunch. It is an interesting little dive that looks like it has been there forever. And they make a mean milkshake!
Tuesday morning came way too soon and we headed back toward home with a little pit stop in Picayune for Dan's work meeting.
