MSU Halloween Carnival

On Tuesday night, we went to a Halloween carnival at Mississippi State and trick or treating on Sorority Row. It was going to be our test to see how Will was going to do on actual Halloween night....and it was better than I could have even imagined! He was so into it and did just what he was supposed to do. He walked up to the first house to get candy and was a little confused..but by the time we left the second one, he knew what was going on and he liked it! He would walk right up to the girls and stick out his pumpkin for some candy and then as soon as they dropped it in, he was turned around and headed for the next house. We even got to stop by the Phi Delt house and saw Patrick and Clay. Will kept his tough cowboy face on the whole time around the guys of course! ;)
Then, we went to the Junction for the carnival. We just bought a few tickets for Will not knowing how many games he would be able to or want to play. He followed us to each game and waited to see what was going on...then jumped right in! He played the fishing game, the treasure hunt, pull a string, and got his face painted. He wasn't even bothered by the freezing cold weather. Dan and I looked at each other several times through the night, saying to ourselves...he is really enjoying this! I also found myself wondering where my little baby went. He is such a big kid now and is doing so many new things all the time and adjusts to new things so well. He is growing up sooo fast!
So, here are the pictures...I took a ton and had a hard time deciding which ones to post so I posted most of them. I mean look at how cute that little cowboy is? I couldn't resist! :)

Pumpkin Carving

Last weekend, Will, Dan, and I visited another pumpkin patch to get some larger pumpkins that we could carve. So, on Sunday night, Kelly and Brett came over and we all carved pumpkins and roasted the seeds! It was a lot of fun and brought me back to being a kid myself. Dan and Brett did most of the actual carving and they did a great job! Who knew they were so crafty? :)





Also, I have posted some pictures of me as a child around Will's age, carving a pumpkin. I realized after I took some of the pictures of Will, that I had seen very similar pictures of myself doing the same thing! Pretty funny!

Big News in Whatley World

We are adding another addition to our family!! YEAH!!! We are sooo excited and have been dying to share the news with EVERYONE! I am 12 weeks along and feeling really good! The baby is due around April 28th. I had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday afternoon and heard the baby's heartbeat. It was 155 bpm, which is really strong and right on target. I will continue to update with all of the appointments. Later, I am going to add a poll on the blog to see if everyone thinks it will be a boy or girl. We will find out sometime in mid December and I cannot wait! Now, we just have to figure out a way to explain to Will what is about to happen to his little only child world! That should be interesting!! :)

The Pumpkin Patch

On Wednesday, Will and I joined some new friends we have made here in Starkville at a pumpkin patch about 40 minutes outside of Starkville. Will and I both had the best time. We rode on a hay ride out to the patch with stops along the way at a treehouse for the kids to play in and a corn maze. Will wasn't all that interested in either of these two events, but was more interested in playing around on the tractor and trailor. He thought that he had made it to heaven when he saw we were riding on a "traaaaaator." If I would have counted, he probably said tractor about 100 times before the day was over. He was thrilled!! At the pumpkin patch, we all got off and Will went right along with the other kids to find a pumpkin. He knew what we were looking for and he was a man on a mission. :) Back at the barn, we had a hotdog lunch before heading back home. Will took the HARDEST nap in the car on the way home! He had worn himself out!
I wish the pictures would have turned out better at the pumpkin patch, but capturing my little moving target is quite a test! At least we have the event documented.







I have also posted a picture from last weekend when Nonnie and Papaw came to visit. We had such a fun time with them and want them to come back again soon!!

Too Big For His Britches!

Literally! Will is getting so big, so fast that he is outgrowing clothes left and right. It is almost like we can watch him grow, he grows so fast. He is getting smarter by the day as well. Those of you who have not seen him in a while would be amazed at his "vocabulary." He says lots and lots of words like "bish" (fish), "traaaator" (tractor), and our personal favorite, "det back" (get back!). It is sooo much fun to watch him learn. He has such a sweet personality that we are all seeing more and more of. He has a very kind heart and loves to give mommy and daddy, as well as anyone else around, lots of hugs and kisses! :) It is such an amazing thing to be able to watch this little baby boy become a person. I just LOVE it!
