Country Pumpkins

On Sunday afternoon, we drove out to Country Pumpkins in Caledonia to visit the pumpkin patch. It is such a great little farm with tons to do for the little ones.
Will rode the John Deere pedal tractors first thing! He was all into it and we had to revisit the tractors after every activity we did.

Then, we all rode on a hayride around the farm.


After that, Will jumped in this trailer filled with cotton. This was probably his second favorite to the tractors.

Then, he dug arond in the corn filled sand boxes and he and I went through a small hay bale maze. Will did great in the maze, but I, on the other hand, was a little freaked out. Imagine small spaces, low ceilings, and warm, stuffy air! Claustrophobic!!

Finally, we picked out a pumpkin for us and one for the Aldridges. I can't wait for them to join us next year at Country Pumpkins!



On Monday night, we got together with Kelly, Brett, Kate, and Brett's brother, Jason, to carve pumpkins. It was a blast. I think that October has become my new favorite time of year. There are so many fun things going on like festivals and football games, the weather is starting to turn cool, and I love all the yummy treats like caramel apples and roasted pumpkin seeds.
Will helped me pull all of the seeds out of the pumpkin goo!


Dan did all the carving. He's pretty crafty! He drew this ghost on the pumpkin from looking at a picture online. Not too shabby!

Just like Daddy

On Saturday morning, Clay came over to our house to use Dan's tools to work on his truck. Needless to say, Will was fascinated watching them out front. He decided that he needed to work on his trucks too. So, he got out his "Bob the Builder" tools and went to work. Will loves to be "just like Daddy!" :)

Beach Pictures

Here are the pictures from our beach trip with the Whatleys a couple of weeks ago. We had such a great time! The weather was perfect! We got to relax by the pool and get some sun! We spent some fun time with family! What else could you ask for? Thank you so much for having us, Gigi and Jabo!

Andrew-6 Months Old

6 Month Stats:

17 lb 13 oz (75th percentile)

27 7/8 inches (90th percentile)

Head circumference: 45 cm (90th percentile....WHOA!)

Our little boy is growing so big and strong! His doctor's appointment went really well today. He had to get 3 shots and the Rotovirus vaccine by mouth...poor baby! While I was there, I also asked about getting Will's flu shot. So, the nurse brought all of the vaccines in at once and asked which one should go first. I told her that Andrew should go first because the older one would be the harder one to console. So, Andrew got his shots and cried like a baby. :) Then it was Will's turn. Another nurse came in to hold Andrew while I got Will on the table and ready. I was talking it up to him telling him that it was going to be a little stick that would hurt a little bit, but he would get a bandaid, yada, yada, yada. Will was a little confused about what was going on and before we knew it the nurse had stuck him and already had the bandaid out. I held my breath and...not the first whimper out of Will! WHAT? I was shocked. He was more fascinated by the orange bandaid. He later told me that he was "tough." Just goes to show you that kids always try to make liar out of you. Andrew calmed down by the time we left and soothed himself with his best defense...sleep. He was asleep before we were out of the parking lot.

And to say a few words about my half-birthday boy, Andrew is doing great. He is at a really fun age right now. He laughs and "talks" especially to Will, his hero! He is eating cereal and a couple of jarred baby foods now. His favorite so far is carrots...my kid?! He is still the sweetest thing and loves to be held. He has started to show some serious opposition to having toys taken away. He is trying to stand his ground as little brother already! :) Also, as you can see in the pictures, the jumperoo is his new favorite toy! I love this little baby more and more everyday!

Oh yeah...Andrew also got his first tooth on Saturday! YEAH!! All the drooling actually has had a purpose!

Fun in Jackson

We made a trip to Jackson this weekend for a baby shower that I was co-hosting with some friends. And, in addition to the shower, we fit all kinds of other fun things into the weekend as well. On Saturday morning, there was a festival going on in Madison. It was a lot of fun and the weather was nice and chilly!! We met up with the Kirks and Bryce and Ella and let the kiddos try out all of the fun activities. There were jumpers, firetrucks, even pony rides. We stood in line for Will to ride one of the ponies, trying to talk it up the whole time, but as you all may have guessed...Will didn't actually make it onto the horse. He chickened out at the last minute....he just wasn't too sure about those "horsies." :) Oh well, maybe next time!

And then the shower was on Saturday afternoon. I did not take any pictures at the shower unfortunately. :( But, it was a great shower for a great friend. I have known Miriam since high school. We were roommates in college and she was in my wedding, so I was so happy to help with a shower for her new baby girl! :) I am so excited for her and I cannot wait to meet Mallory!!

MSU Game 3

YEAH!! We finally had good weather for a football game! The game itself....not so great, but tailgating sure was fun!! :)

Will got to spend lots of time in the "Fan Fair" area. Don't let the sad look on his face fool you. He was having a great time, but our little blue eyed boy just can't take the sun.
