Now, that I am back to the real world, I have piles and piles of laundry, bags to unpack, a house that needs a little attention, but I am going to blog and post pictures about the trip instead. Am I that relaxed from the break or do I have a prioritization issue? I will let you decide. :)
On the way down to Gulf Shores, we stopped in Mobile at the USS Alabama. This place holds a great memory from my childhood, and so Dan and I have been wanting to share it with our family too.
My little shipmates getting ready to board the ship.
They were clearly the most impressed with the size of the ship and the amount of guns on board. I guess I will have to save that whole History lesson part of the experience for a later date. ;)
Will was a little freaked out at first when we went below the deck. He wanted to understand where the water was, were we in the water, and why is that scary old music playing? (It was just jazz music from the era that the ship was occupied, but he thought it was "sad music.")
I can't understand why the boys were so enamored by the guns!? I mean look how clearly unexcited their dad looks to be behind a huge machine gun. :)
I will post pictures from the rest of our trip soon, because you know that list from above...well, laundry is calling!
