The Middle Man

Since I have been such a terrible blogger lately and forgetting my camera at every "special" event we go to, I decided to change it up a bit and write about our little Andrew-man, just because.
We have joked about Andrew having middle child syndrome from the day he was born and way before we had any inkling about having a third child.  He is just that go-with-the-flow, passive, free-spirited, (sometimes) lost-in-the-shuffle kind of kid.  My decision/post partum craziness/moment of insanity/whatever you want to call it to take him out of preschool this year and wait for next year has afforded me LOTS of time with the little guy.  And most days, I feel like it was the perfect decision for our family.  Others, usually the days he is talking incessantly or whining or just driving me nuts, I feel like pulling my hair out and the worst mom ever.
But, today is not one of those days.  It is thankfully the first kind.  The kind of day where I just find myself enjoying every little moment with him and taking in all the cute things he does and thinking about all the reasons I love him so much.  And lucky for all you in my readership, I wrote some of those reasons down. :)
1.  He has a sincere chuckle and a great belly laugh.
2.  He fully experiences music.  Picture him standing next to the I-pad listening to Pandora swaying back and forth to the beat with his eyes closed.
3.  Right now he is walking around singing "Hey, Ho" and getting most of the words right.
4.  Although he is so young, he has such a great faith.  I know how often we are told to model our faith after that of a child's and Andrew is a great example. He talks about God often and is so matter of fact about the things in this world that God is in control of.
5.  He always reminds us to pray before mealtime where ever we are.  We did not pray out loud as a family at restaurants until Andrew came along.
6.   He gives spontaneous hugs.
7.  He is so tender hearted that he cries whenever a character in a movie is being bullied or has something bad happen to him.  He hasn't figured out that most Disney movies have a happy ending.  :)
8.  He plays whatever Will wants to play and rarely balks at it.
9.  The kid LOVES Mario Kart and is surpringly good.  I'm both proud as a Mario Kart enthusiast myself and a little unproud as a parent who probably shouldn't let my 3 year old play the Wii so much.
10.  He makes the best boy noises with lots of crashing and booms and bangs.
11.  He has a vivid imagination and I love to hear him talking with/for his little GI Joe type guys.
12.  He walks around taking everything in.  He literally stops to smell the roses.
13.  He is just beautiful.  I know you aren't supposed to call a boy beautiful, but he is.  He has a smile that lights up a room and the biggest green eyes that are full of love and wonder.
I really could go on and on, because there is so much to love about him.  He is one of a kind.
Life is good with our little Andy-man!
