4th of July

We have had a couple of fun and busy weekends. Molly and Matthew Kirk came up on Saturday, June 28th for a wedding. Dan and I got to babysit sweet little Emily Kay! It was really fun to see how Will reacted to a little baby. He tried to help us out, but thought that Emily Kay should have her paci in at all times and if she didn't want it, he did! He was surprisingly gentle with her though and only got upset if I was holding her for too long and not him! :) What else can you expect from an only child 17 month old?

4th of July Weekend
Then for the 4th, we went to Jackson to visit Nonnie and Papaw. On Friday, the neighborhood had a 4th of July parade, so we strapped Will in the stroller walked in the parade. Afterwards, they had a train that took the kids around the block, which Will really liked. They also had a fire truck out there so we let Will look around the truck. It was after all the other activities so he didn't seem too interested!

Will took an awesome nap that afternoon and then we headed to the Mississippi Braves game with Molly, Kirk, and Natalie. The game was a lot of fun and it was packed out! The game didn't start until 7:05 so I was worried about how long we would be able to stay, but Will was a trooper as usual! He ate nachos and ice cream and all that good stuff, but fell asleep before the fireworks display after the game. We were all amazed that he was able to sleep through the booming fireworks, but he did and we all got to enjoy!

On Saturday afternoon, we had a cookout at Nonnie and Papaw's. My sister, Missy came over with her daughters, Sara(14) and Shelby(11). And my sister, Becky, who lives in Virginia, was also in town with her girls, Hannah(13), Cameron(7), Avery(5), and Preslie(2). My uncle Frank and aunt Katrina also came over with their kids, Chase(14), Alex(11), and Emma(4). Molly, Kirk, Emily Kay, and Natalie, also all stopped by! Needless to say, we had a crowd! The kids all swam and we all ate barbecue and had a great time! Will loved spending time with all of the kids!

ps..we have these same pictures from last year in the old blog posts if you want to compare how much the kids have changed from year to year!

On Sunday, Dan and I went to Emily Kay's Baptism. It was really sweet and she looked so precious in her white gown. Afterwards, we went by to see the Kirk's new house and then to a brunch at Matthew Kirk's family's house. On Sunday afternoon, we all spent more time by the pool just relaxing. Will played and played outside and scraped up his knees and arms crawling up and down the concrete steps, but it didn't phase him. But then we had a doozie of a fall when we made it back to Starkville. We were unloading the car and Will was helping by pulling the suitcase on wheels. It got away from him and it knocked him down the slope of the driveway onto his little baby face! He screamed and screamed and I felt sooo bad. He has a busted lip and a scraped up nose as a souvenir. I really hated for that to be the end to such a fun weekend, but he it didn't get him down for long and by the time it was bath time, he was smiling and having fun again!
Whew...I'm tired!
