Fore!

Last weekend, we (the whole blended family) :) went golfing and who knew it could be so much fun with an 18 month old along! It had been since August '06 that I had been out on a golf course with Dan, so we decided that Will was probably old enough to behave well enough to get out for the afternoon. We packed Will's clubs from Gigi and Jabo and headed out for the links. Kelly, Will, and I drove a golf cart and Dan and Brett did all the hard work...they walked and actually played! :) Will had a lot of fun in the cart at first, but then decided that Daddy and Uncle Brett were walking instead of riding which must mean that walking is a lot cooler! So, Will walked with them for a few holes...well maybe just 1 1/2 holes. Then, he would take turns getting Dan to carry him to the next hole or he would join me and Kelly back in the cart. Dan and Brett both showed Will how to hit a ball and Will liked to "wiggle" his club which was his version of swinging. I think he did pretty good though. We may have the next Tiger Woods on our hands. After all, he is only 18 months old and is learning to swing a club! Not too shabby! And the most suprising thing of the whole day was that we made it through 18 holes! Will did find a few mud puddles throughout and had a snack about midway to keep him happy, but we kept his attention through the long haul and I would have to call the day a success. Will just enjoyed being a part of the whole experience so much that he was on his best behavior. It turned out to be a wonderful afternoon filled with great memories forever!

Ok, blonde hair and blue eyes- so the Armstrong genes are not dominant! Good to know for future reference! Let's just see if he sprouts any freckles before we get too hasty...
