On Saturday, we went over to Grandmother and Pappa's house for Christmas Eve lunch and opened gifts with Aunt Tamra and Uncle Randy.
Will was so excited to be wearing the same shirt as Daddy. Two peas in a pod!
The boys took their role of gift distributing seriously.
The boys were thrilled with their race tracks and train tracks and cool new clothes.
Tamra also made this beautiful quilt for Will. I'm so glad he is back to being a big Mississippi State fan again! :)
Saturday evening, we opened gifts with Patrick, Katie, Clay, and Michelle. The only thing missing that would have made the evening more perfect was if Kelly, Brett, and their family could have been there too.
Patrick got the boys a dodge ball set complete with headbands and wrist-warmers. I think the big guys had as much fun with the gift as the little ones.
Will and Andrew slept in a bed together the whole time they were in Hartselle and LOVED it! This is how we found Andrew on Christmas Eve...
We woke up early on Christmas morning and Santa had arrived in Hartselle.
The funniest tidbit of the morning was when Will and Andrew opened up a shark and whale set. The back of the box had a picture of a live shark on it and that was the first thing that Andrew saw. Well, he went running in the other direction yelling "SHARK" at the top of his lungs. Will threw the box down and started to step back slowly. It was priceless! If only we would have had the video camera out, we might have been winners of America's Funniest Home Videos.
After opening gifts, we headed to mass where Jabo and the quartet were singing.
Christmas mass was wonderful and afterward, we headed over to the Downs' home for lunch. And it was a feast! Ed had been in the kitchen since 5am and had created a delicious spread. It was really special to spend Christmas day with this part of our extended family.
Will and Andrew made themselves right at home and stretched out to watch "A Muppet Christmas Carol."
Sunday night, we went over to Nanny and Papa's house to see everyone from the Staudt side of the family who was in town. We ate(again!), played a game, and just caught up with everyone who we had not seen in a while. It was a great Christmas and we had two very tired boys by the end of the day.
Dan and I headed back to Starkville on Monday morning to finish packing for the big move and left the boys in Hartselle to spend a few days with their grandparents. I have pictures from that week to come....
