Friday night, Nonnie, Papaw, Gigi, Jabo, Clay, and Michelle came over and we had dinner and let Will open his family gifts.
He was so excited about the big kid Leap Pad from Nonnie and Papaw...
And the cool Lightning McQueen boots from Gigi and Jabo.
We all worked hard getting the last few things ready for the party. The girls baked cupcakes and all the goodies. The guys worked on getting our new tv mounted to the wall, which turned into a much larger job upon the discovery that the wall was actually brick instead of sheetrock. But, they got it up there and were a proud crew.
On Saturday afternoon, we had a "Cars" themed birthday party(of course!).
All the kids decorated a cardboard box car and sat in their car to watch Cars 2.
It was a hit!
We also had lots of yummy snacks including a "leaning tower of tires," "road cones of fruit," and "Cars Cheezits"...
We had lots of fun friends over...
And, of course, cupcakes and singing "Happy Birthday."
And opening lots of really nice gifts from all his sweet friends.
Afterward, we had 2 worn out little boys. :)
It was such a wonderful weekend and a great way to share our big boy's special event.
Having our family here made it extra special and Dan, the kids, and I enjoyed every minute together with everyone. I say it time and time again, that we have the best family around. Thanks everyone!
Overall, I think this sums up Will's feeling on the weekend...2 thumbs up!

It was a great weekend and a FUN, FUN Party! Great ideas and delicious food Amy! We loved spending the weekend with the Whatley families and meeting some of your Starkville friends!!
